FA III & FA IV Framework

Formative Assessment III 10% in October-November

Formative Assessment IV 10% in January- February

FA III +FA IV = 20%

Summative1 40% March SA2 = 40%

Total Formative Assessments = FA1 + FA2 + FA3 + FA4= 40%

Smmative Assessments = SA1 + SA 2= 60%

The following points have to be noted by teachers and students (For Classes IX & X).

• There are two formative assessments each in the first and second term.

• Each Formative Assessment is again divided into smaller assessments (class

assignments, quiz, projects, written tests) which can carry different marks.

• Each formative assessment has a weightage of 10% which can be arrived at by

taking an average of all tasks or the best three or four.

• The total weightage of all the four formative assessments is 40%.

• The time-frame, split up of syllabus as per the four formative assessments,

and the minimum number of suggested tasks for each formative assessment have been given in the annual planner for each subject.

The annual planner is only suggestive and schools can adapt it as per their needs

6.Factorization-Introduction, Division of algebraic expressions, Division of Algebraic expressions continued (Polynomial + polynomial), Find error.

7.Introduction to graphs-Introduction, Linear graphs, Some applications.

8.Playing with numbers-Introduction, Numbers in general form, Games with numbers, Letters for digits, Tests of divisibility.

Green Olympiad 2011 and its linkage with CCE in school curricular

TERI has been conducting Green Olympiad project in India and abroad for students of class VIII to X. Since Environment education forms an integral part of school, society and life, the written test assesses the Environment related sensitivity of the students. This effort (of TERI) aligns well with the existing school curriculum on one side and the spirit of CCE re-initiated by the Board .Certification by agencies like UNESCO and DESD further lends credibility to this project. In view of collective responsibility towards the social awareness, the Board considers the Olympiad as relevant to address the challenges of 21st century through school
education. The Central Board of Secondary Education has agreed to conduct of the Green Olympiad 2011 organized by TERI, across the country.

Important Dates:

Date of examination 27th August 2011 

24th September 2011

Last date for Registration 23rd July 2011

Eligibility:

  • Students of class VIII to X are eligible to appear for the examination.
  • A minimum number of 20 students are required for the school to register for the examination.

How to apply:

  • Registration form can be filled in Hindi or English. A scanned copy of each is enclosed. This can be downloaded from www.teriin.org/olympiad.
  • A completely filled registration form has to be sent by hand/ post along with a BANK DRAFT in the favour of TERI Delhi. The Environment Education and Awareness area.

Examination Pattern:

  • The Examination would consist of Objective type, Multiple choice Questions (MCQs). There is no negative marking.
  • Duration of the examination is 2 hours.
