NTSE: ALL ABOUT NATIONAL TALENT SEARCH EXAM

In today’s prevailing competitive scenario, there is a need to recognise and encourage extremely intellect students.  NTSE is one such national level scholarship program. In India, it is one of the hardest and prominent examinations at the high school level.This examination is organised by NCERT every year in order to hunt for the sharp-minded students all over the country to offer them a scholarship for their complete educational career.

The dual stage selection procedure is followed for this esteemed examination. At the first phase, states and the union territories conduct the screening examination which is popularly known as State Level Talent Search Examination. The top ranking candidates as per the state quota gets eligible for the further stage. Moving into the second phase, NCERT conducts a National level talent search examination of the screened candidates (approx 4000 students), consisting of two objective type tests, that is, Mental Ability Test (MAT) and the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). A postulated number of students who actually qualify these two tests are finally selected for awarding this scholarship.

The total number of scholarships awarded all over India is 1000 out of which, 15% scholarships are reserved for the SC Category students, 7.5% scholarships for the ST Category students and 3% for the Physically Challenged students. The amount of scholarship awarded to the students qualifying this examination is Rs750/- per month except for PhD where it is paid as per the UGC norms.

National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) aids the students to flourish their minds and augment their analytical expertise.
